Wonderful Scholar Summer Internship, Accounting | Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds

The Tone:
This is an onsite summer internship at Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds, located in Los Angeles, CA. Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds stands as the world’s largest vertically integrated pistachio and almond processor, delivering over 450 million pounds of nuts globally each year from California’s fertile San Joaquin Valley. The company meticulously sorts, grades, processes, roasts, flavors, and packages billions of Non-GMO Project Verified and sustainably harvested nuts annually for both industrial and retail customers under flagship brands like Wonderful Pistachios and Wonderful Almonds. As part of The Wonderful Company, a privately held $4.8 billion enterprise with other leading brands such as Wonderful Halos and FIJI Water, this role is designed to provide practical experience and contribute to a crucial project focused on process improvement within the Accounting department, directly supporting the efficient and accurate financial operations of a global leader in healthy snack production.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Management: Organize, review, and analyze financial and operational data to inform departmental activities.
• Financial Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information, maintaining high standards for data quality.
• System Validation: Assist with Oracle ERP process flow testing and perform critical data validation to confirm system accuracy.
• Documentation & Reporting: Clearly document testing steps and results, identifying and reporting any discrepancies found to the Accounting/Finance team.
• Process Support: Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives and maintain organized records of all testing and validation activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An entry-level role for a student enrolled in the Wonderful Scholar College Success program, currently pursuing a degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience: This internship focuses on providing hands-on experience, and specific prior professional experience is not a stated requirement. The role values eagerness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within an Accounting context.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, proficiency in Excel (including data organization, formulas, sorting, filtering, and basic analysis), the ability to follow detailed instructions and structured processes, and adaptability.
