Automotive Accounting Bookkeeper | Audi of America

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Audi New Rochelle, located in New Rochelle, NY. Audi New Rochelle is part of a multi-franchise dealership group that has served the tri-state area since 1980, specializing in luxury automotive sales and service. This position is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting dealership operations across various departments, and ensuring the smooth flow of accounting processes within a franchised automobile dealership.

• Mission: Owns the accurate processing and reconciliation of dealership financial transactions, supporting the overall business office operations.
• Tech Stack: CDK or another automotive dealership management system, Microsoft Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process financial transactions: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including posting cash receipts, credit card transactions, and bank deposits, ensuring accurate posting and timely processing.
• Reconcile accounts: Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and various accounting schedules to maintain financial accuracy and resolve outstanding items.
• Handle vehicle-related accounting: Post vehicle deals, review deal jackets for completeness, and reconcile floor plan and vehicle inventory accounts.
• Process factory transactions: Oversee the processing of factory receivables, incentives, rebates, and warranty payments.
• Support month-end: Contribute to month-end closing procedures and ensure all dealership accounting records are well-organized and maintained.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Experienced professional with core domain knowledge in franchised automotive dealership accounting processes and requirements.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of automotive dealership accounting experience. Proven experience with dealership accounting schedules and general ledger reconciliation.
• Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills, excellent attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational and time-management abilities, and the capacity to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Bonus: Familiarity with CDK or another automotive dealership management system.
