The Tone:

This position is vital for leading Aon’s British Columbia operations, driving strategic growth, strengthening the firm, and expanding market share across risk, health and benefits, and wealth services in the region.

• Pay: $220000–$325000 yearly
• Team: Direct reporting to the Western Canada Executive Vice President, with accountability to Solution Line leadership for Wealth, Health, and Commercial Risk.
• Mission: Lead and drive the strategic growth plans for Aon in British Columbia, ensuring overall business results and market share expansion.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Growth Strategy: Lead and execute strategic growth plans for Aon across British Columbia, ensuring overall achievement of regional business results.
• Client Engagement: Act as an Account Director on a portfolio of clients, driving distinctive client value and fostering strong relationships at all levels.
• Business Performance: Deliver revenue growth and margin in accordance with budget, identifying and implementing corrective actions for underperformance.
• Talent Management: Oversee all people-related activities for the region, including recruitment, training, engagement, performance, and succession planning.
• Sales Leadership: Direct sales planning, marketing, and execution of products and services to secure new and retain existing account relationships, enhancing business results.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Executive. Post-Secondary degree in a business-related program preferred, or equivalent experience. Subject matter expertise in risk and insurance, retirement, or health and benefits.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive professional leadership success, with a minimum of 5+ years in a regional/specialty/branch leadership role. Proven track record leading large, diverse teams to deliver client service excellence and achieve growth targets across multiple products.
• Skills: Strategic business planning and execution expertise, ability to lead teams in developing new client relationships, expertise in identifying, recruiting, developing, and retaining top professional talent, clear success driving sustained profitable growth, and ability to lead teams through major organizational change.
• Bonus: Professional designations such as CIP, FCIP, and CRM preferable, or working towards similar, coupled with a BC Insurance license. Demonstrated leadership presence in the risk community and within the market.
