Entry Level Accounting Clerk | Addison Group
The Tone:
This is an early career opportunity with Addison Group’s client, located in Pawtucket, RI. Their client is a growing business services organization seeking support for a crucial accounts receivable cleanup project. This role provides an excellent chance for an early-career accounting professional to gain hands-on experience with the AR process and exposure to a large, complex business environment. There is strong potential for this temporary-to-permanent position to convert into a permanent role.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconciliation: Assist with accounts receivable reconciliation and cleanup across multiple systems.
• Analysis: Support aging analysis to identify discrepancies across customer accounts.
• Data Integrity: Perform data scrubbing and validation to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Payments: Assist with cash application and payment posting as needed.
• Resolution: Collaborate with team members to research and resolve outstanding and aged accounts receivable items.
• Reporting: Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. This is an entry-level position focused on accounting support.
• Experience: 0-2 years of accounting or finance experience, with internship experience considered. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent client outreach and troubleshooting client issues or requests.
• Skills: Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills, comfortable working with large volumes of data and ambiguity, and possessing strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to accounts receivable (AR), reconciliations, or ERP systems is a plus.
