This is a contract-based internship at Gift, located remotely, offering flexible hours designed to accommodate academic commitments. Gift is a social platform designed to build genuine communities around shared interests, creators, and brands, focusing on celebrating others through meaningful exchanges rather than individual performance. This role is crucial for supporting Gift’s music-related community initiatives, specifically by discovering and highlighting emerging college artists and fostering authentic connections, thereby making social media truly about bringing people together.

• Mission: The College Music Intern will discover and highlight emerging college artists to build genuine music communities and make social media about bringing people together.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Discover & Curate: Discover emerging college artists, curate playlists, and highlight music that aligns with user interests and platform values.
• Research & Engage: Research college and local music scenes and engage with student music communities.
• Contribute Content: Contribute to content ideas that spotlight artists and provide feedback on music-focused features.
• Support Partnerships: Assist with basic outreach to potential partners or collaborators.
• Coordinate Campaigns: Help organize virtual listening sessions and collaborate with the team on campaigns that celebrate musicians and fans.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Active enrollment in a college or university, preferably with a focus in music, media, communications, or related fields, alongside foundational knowledge and enthusiasm for music and music industry topics.
• Experience: Strong interest or experience in music performance and production, with the ability to understand artists’ creative processes and needs, coupled with exposure to or coursework in music education for clear musical communication.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging respectfully and professionally with diverse communities, and comfort working remotely while managing time independently and collaborating through digital tools.
• Bonus: Demonstrated passion for building inclusive communities and supporting emerging artists; prior campus involvement in music clubs, radio, or events is a plus.
