Staff Accountant | CFS

The Tone:

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cash Management: Download and reconcile weekly revenue and cash receipts, prepare deposits, and record cash transactions into QuickBooks Online.
• General Ledger Operations: Upload reconciled sub-ledger transactions, maintain G/L code mapping, and prepare accurate journal entries for monthly close, including depreciation, amortization, and accruals.
• Payroll & Account Analysis: Process and upload payroll journal entries from ADP, create related reports, and perform monthly analyses for all material Balance Sheet accounts.
• Financial Reporting Support: Prepare pension and benefits reports, communicate with actuaries, and assist the Senior Director of Finance with budget preparation, forecasting, and audit schedules.
• Special Projects: Prepare ad hoc financial reports and contribute to special projects as necessary, including accounting for spending on specific grants.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related business field, providing the foundational knowledge required for an early-career accounting professional.
• Experience: At least 1-3 years of hands-on accounting experience, with a proven track record of working effectively with QuickBooks Online for financial management.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in financial reconciliation, preparing accurate journal entries, managing general ledger operations, processing payroll, and performing detailed account analysis.
• Bonus: Experience and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel are considered a valuable asset for this role.
