The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Perform Engagement Tasks: Execute audit procedures for moderately complex areas or prepare individual, business, and trust tax returns for review.
• Analyze Client Information: Review prior year work papers, financial statements, or tax returns to understand client context and identify relevant issues.
• Apply Accounting Principles: Maintain knowledge of clients’ accounting practices, business conditions, and federal tax regulations.
• Develop Solutions: Draft management letter comments supported by factual information or calculate tax extension and estimate payments.
• Collaborate and Communicate: Work directly with clients and firm leaders, building relationships and delivering exceptional client service.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuit of an accounting major and eventual CPA license; completion of Intermediate Financial Accounting I by the start of the internship.
• Experience: Preferred graduation dates with 150 credit hours between December 2026 – May 2028; GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Skills: Strong, hands-on Excel skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Bonus: Completion of a Tax or Audit class; initiative and drive exhibited through leadership experiences; motivation to continuously learn and improve.
