Management Development Program (MDP) – Resort Operations | Marriott Vacations Worldwide

The Tone:
This is a non-exempt management position, structured as an intensive immersion program, located at U.S. based resorts across various regions including Florida, Hawaii, and California. Marriott Vacations Worldwide offers flexible vacation programs, giving customers the ability to choose the style of vacationing that suits their needs, year after year. Each vacation ownership product provides access to a variety of usage options — from an internal collection and an external exchange network of resorts; to hotels around the world; cruises, adventure travel, guided tours and more. This immersive program is critical for developing future leaders by providing participants with direct work experience across various operational departments, offering the opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership, management, and hospitality skills while upholding the company’s commitment to personal development, long-lasting customer relationships, and high ethical standards.

• Pay: $25–$27.41 hourly
• Team: Reports to site leadership, supported by a dedicated mentor/sponsor
• Mission: To develop leadership, management, and hospitality skills by gaining comprehensive operational expertise across multiple resort departments.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Immersion: Participate in a 12-month intensive immersion program designed to offer comprehensive work experience throughout a resort.
• Skill Development: Develop and demonstrate leadership, management, and hospitality skills through practical work experience within a resort environment.
• Departmental Rotations: Rotate through multiple key departments, which may include Front Office, Housekeeping, Recreation, Safety & Security, Food & Beverage, and Facilities.
• Structured Learning: Engage with department-focused checklists and weekly focus areas to ensure a comprehensive understanding of resort operations.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Interact directly with owners, guests, and fellow associates to build operational expertise and cultivate professional relationships.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates need to earn a bachelor’s degree by the time they begin the program, and be recent graduates within the current semester or up to two years post-graduation; a valid driver’s license with at least one year of clean driving history may be required based on location.
• Experience: No specific years required; however, a bachelor’s degree with a preferred major in Hospitality or Hotel/Restaurant Management is considered, and Business and Hospitality minors will also be accepted.
• Bonus: Prior hospitality or resort operations experience.
