Personnel Operations Student | Daktronics

The Tone:
This is a student position at Daktronics, a company that develops cutting-edge digital LED display technology and audio systems for sports events, customer attraction, and daily guidance worldwide. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Approximately 15 hours per week during academic year (maximum of 20 hours); up to 40 hours per week during summer.
• Location: Remote, Brookings, SD (preference given to candidates near corporate headquarters)
• Pay: $14–$15 hourly
• Team: Part of a Personnel Operations team
• Mission: To prepare students for future full-time opportunities by providing hands-on experience and foundational knowledge across the employee lifecycle within Personnel Operations.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office tools, business systems, databases

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Support: Support day-to-day administrative and operational processes across multiple business functions.
• Data Management: Assist with data entry, reporting, document management, and record maintenance utilizing business systems, databases, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Stakeholder Communication: Prepare reports and communications for internal stakeholders and assist with internal team requests by researching information and providing timely support.
• Project Ownership: Take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Personnel Function Exposure: Gain exposure to various Personnel functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee records management, compliance, HR systems, reporting, employee engagement, and process improvement.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Business, Consumer Behavior, Economics, Entrepreneurial Studies, or a closely related field. The preferred applicant will be in their sophomore or junior year.
• Experience: No specific years required; must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher. Strong academic performance is considered, with unofficial transcripts required.
• Skills: Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, reliable, and capable of working independently in a remote environment. Must be eager to learn new projects and software, adaptable to shifting priorities, proficient in general computer use (including accurate keyboarding), and possess strong oral and written English communication skills.
• Bonus: Students with a GPA of 3.5 and above may be eligible for a $500 Academic Excellence Reward per semester. Registered in at least 12 credits.
