The Tone:
This is a Co-op/Intern position at Kalkreuth Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc., one of the top 10 roofing contractors in the country. The company specializes in complex commercial exterior envelope applications across various markets, serving industries such as automotive, chemical, government, education, and healthcare. This role is crucial for supporting project management activities, ensuring the smooth execution and successful completion of diverse construction projects. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a progressive and well-resourced construction environment.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship / Co-op
• Mission: This person supports project management activities across the construction lifecycle, ensuring compliance, quality, and timely execution of commercial exterior envelope projects.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Coordination: Assist in the execution of the contractor bid process and complete project take-offs and cost estimates.
• Project Monitoring: Manage and monitor approved projects, including participating in weekly tasks and job meetings for capital projects.
• Logistics Management: Aid in the timely preparation and execution of equipment orders, tracking them and scheduling deliveries according to the construction schedule.
• Project Closeout: Assist with project closeout procedures, which include preparing punch lists, managing final invoicing, and filing documentation.
• Vendor Communication: Solicit and maintain effective communication with subcontractors and vendors to ensure project needs are met.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or doctorate program, with an interest in construction project management.
• Experience: Proficiency in PC programs, including Microsoft Office.
• Skills: Strong organizational, time management, and detail-oriented abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to conduct oneself professionally in a business setting while maintaining a professional appearance.
