Intern – Corporate Finance | Navigant Credit Union
The Tone:
This is an internship at Navigant Credit Union, located in Rhode Island. Navigant Credit Union is the largest credit union in Rhode Island, with $4 billion in assets, dedicated to improving the financial well-being of the families, businesses, and communities it serves since 1915. This role is critical for supporting the FP&A team in financial analysis, strategic planning, and performance measurement initiatives, directly influencing organizational decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Balance Sheet Management: Analyzes balance sheet trends, interest rate risk, liquidity, and funding strategies to support Asset/Liability Management (ALM) initiatives.
• Corporate Finance Analysis: Assists with corporate finance projects by performing return on investment (ROI), internal rate of return (IRR), payback period, and capital allocation analyses.
• Profitability Assessment: Performs detailed profitability analyses for products, services, projects, business units, and strategic initiatives.
• Financial Modeling: Develops financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to support management decision-making processes.
• Data Analysis: Gathers, validates, and analyzes financial and operational data utilizing Excel, reporting tools, and enterprise systems.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related field, demonstrating entry-level understanding of core financial domains.
• Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of financial concepts, including financial statements, ROI, profitability analysis, discounted cash flow, and IRR calculations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required.
• Skills: Possesses strong analytical and quantitative skills with keen attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Bonus: Familiarity with programming languages such as Visual Basic, R, Python, or Stata, and experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is preferred. Relevant coursework in corporate finance, investments, banking, economics, or financial modeling is also a plus.
