Finance Intern | Aspida
The Tone:
This is a summer 2027 internship at Aspida, located in Durham, NC, requiring a hybrid work schedule of three days onsite. • Mission: To contribute to the diverse financial operations of Aspida by supporting areas such as Tax, Strategy, Controllership, or FP&A, while gaining exposure to high-impact projects and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial data.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks (examples for ERP systems mentioned)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Help prepare and review budgets and forecasts, and support variance analysis by comparing actual versus budgeted numbers.
• Account Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger entries, identifying discrepancies, and reporting findings to senior finance staff.
• Financial Reporting: Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, supporting the team in ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Invoice Processing & Expense Tracking: Assist with reviewing and processing vendor invoices and employee expense reports, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
• Market and Competitor Research: Conduct basic financial research on market trends, competitors, or investment opportunities, summarizing findings and presenting them to supervisors or team leads.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Experience: Candidates should be pursuing a relevant bachelor’s degree for a Summer 2027 internship program.
• Skills: Possess analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access applications, along with clear and concise verbal and written communication abilities.
• Bonus:
