The Tone:
This is an internship at Clove Dental, located in Los Angeles, CA. Clove Dental owns and operates nine dental practices and has an ambitious goal to expand to 40 practices by the end of 2028 through a combination of acquisition and new practice builds. This role is crucial for students seeking to gain direct, real-world experience in buy-side finance within a high-growth environment, with clear pathways for career progression or network opportunities. It provides a unique chance to work alongside a high-velocity acquisition team led by an alumnus of Silver Lake and Citadel.

• Mission: Facilitate the strategic expansion of Clove Dental’s portfolio by identifying, acquiring, and integrating new dental practices to reach the company’s growth targets.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sourcing: Drive for sourcing activities, including visiting dental practices, to identify potential acquisition targets.
• Modeling: Construct complex levered-based financial models to evaluate potential acquisitions.
• Negotiation: Assist in negotiations with practice owners and real estate partners for acquisitions and joint ventures.
• Integration: Support the integration process for newly acquired practices and partners into the Clove Dental network.
• Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders throughout the acquisition and integration process.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a junior, senior, MBA, or graduate business student.
• Experience: No specific prior experience years are required, but candidates should demonstrate a strong motivation for buy-side finance.
• Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, negotiation, relationship building, integration processes, and sourcing.
• Bonus: A strong aspiration to pursue a career in buy-side finance, either directly post-graduation or following investment banking experience; commitment to a high level of communication, trust, and punctuality; ability to drive for sourcing activities.
