This Summer 2028 FIG audit intern role is a significant opportunity to specialize in auditing financial institutions, contributing to the firm’s #1 ranking in credit union auditing. Interns will receive hands-on training and responsibilities comparable to first-year associates, gaining invaluable experience that showcases the rewarding nature of a public accounting career.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engagement Support: Assist with a variety of audit, review, and compilation engagements.
• Specialized Audits: Support employee benefit plan audits, including specific 401(k) plan audits.
• Documentation: Prepare and organize audit workpapers and all necessary supporting documentation.
• Control Testing: Perform comprehensive testing of account balances, transactions, and internal controls.
• Client Interaction: Communicate professionally and effectively with clients and firm personnel.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an Entry-Level internship requiring candidates to be actively pursuing either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting. Successful completion of at least one intermediate accounting course is essential for this role. Additionally, applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, both overall and specifically within their accounting major, to qualify for consideration.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is strictly required for this internship. However, candidates with any prior work experience, whether directly related to accounting or in other fields, are preferred as it demonstrates foundational workplace skills.
• Skills: Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to interact professionally with both clients and internal firm personnel. Demonstrated leadership abilities, coupled with a proactive approach to taking initiative, are highly valued. Strong time management skills are essential for effectively handling multiple responsibilities and contributing to various engagement timelines.
• Bonus: A strong drive and genuine motivation to pursue a long-term career in public accounting is a significant asset. A high degree of curiosity, an enthusiastic willingness to learn, and an eagerness to contribute to team efforts are also highly desirable attributes for this role.
