The Tone:
This is a year-round, part-time internship at Sandia National Laboratories, located onsite in New Mexico. Sandia National Laboratories is the nation’s premier science and engineering lab, focusing on national security and technology innovation. This role supports the essential services of logistics operations, contributing to the seamless movement of materials, property control, and reapplication management, which are crucial for meeting mission needs and ensuring sustainability.

• Mission: This role supports the management and control of property, material, and information to ensure timely deliveries, safe handling, and compliance with regulatory requirements, maximizing return on investments through strategic control and reutilization of excess property.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide assistance in managing and controlling property, material, and information.
• Records Management: Maintain and update corporate accountability systems for nuclear and non-nuclear, classified material and property records using varied computing equipment.
• Problem Resolution: Investigate non-routine issues related to material/equipment receipt and coordinate property reapplication activities.
• Team Guidance: As required, instruct, direct, or assign work to others, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures and resolving discrepancies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0.
• Experience: Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Skills: U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, asylee, or refugee in the U.S.
• Bonus: Experience working within a team environment; Ability to provide excellent customer service to reapplication customers; Ability to follow safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment with the team; Ability to learn quickly and work independently as needed.
