General Manager | Municipal Gym
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Municipal Gym, located at its founding location. The company builds world-class, wellness-integrated training centers where serious training is paired with premium amenities, spotless standards, and genuine hospitality. This role is pivotal as the first General Manager, setting the operational and service standards for an exciting brand with immediate growth plans into two additional states.

• Pay: $110000–$130000 yearly
• Team: Reports to Municipal CEO; Dotted line to Local Senior Leadership (EōS Fitness); Direct Reports: Membership Director, Operations Director and Personal Training Director
• Mission: Own the overall performance and day-to-day execution of the gym, setting the standard for training, operation, and community engagement as the brand expands.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Drive Business Performance: Own the gym’s business results, managing revenue, labor, scheduling, and expenses with discipline to achieve performance goals.
• Ensure Premium Member Experience: Lead the end-to-end in-gym experience, ensuring welcoming service, high standards, and using feedback to prioritize and follow through on improvements.
• Build and Develop Leaders: Guide and develop department leaders through clear goals, coaching, and consistent follow-through, while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
• Establish Operating Rhythms: Implement consistent operating routines like daily huddles, weekly check-ins, and monthly scorecards to maintain clear priorities and tight execution.
• Set Brand Standards for Growth: Establish the foundational operational and service standards at the founding location that will guide how the brand trains, operates, and shows up for its community as it expands.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager level with multi-department operational leadership.
• Experience: 5+ years leading multi-department operations while owning business results in premium fitness, hospitality, private club, or multi-unit retail. Proven track record of driving growth, delivering a high-quality member experience, and managing staffing responsibly.
• Skills: Strong people leadership including hiring, coaching, setting expectations, and holding teams accountable. Ability to use dashboards and scorecards to manage and communicate business priorities in a premium environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
