Strategic Sourcing Manager, Vice President | Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group
The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), working from an MUFG office or client site four days per week and remotely one day. MUFG is one of the world’s leading financial groups, striving to make a difference for clients, organizations, and communities. This position is vital for driving greater efficiency, value, and quality across the organization by developing and executing comprehensive sourcing strategies. The primary goal of this role is to efficiently save the Bank money while maintaining an acceptable level of risk and fostering valuable interdepartmental relationships.

• Pay: $126000–$161000 yearly
• Team: Provides oversight, coaching, and mentoring to other sourcing managers within the organization
• Mission: Efficiently save the Bank money while maintaining an acceptable level of risk and sustaining value-based interdepartmental relationships.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy Development: Develop a comprehensive strategic sourcing strategy for various lines of business, aligning with defined business objectives and overall corporate goals.
• Sourcing Execution: Lead the end-to-end sourcing process and facilitate analysis and collaboration of cross-functional teams, leveraging market and industry insights to make strategic recommendations.
• Stakeholder & Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain value-measured relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers to drive sustained results and ensure strategies align with business goals.
• Market Intelligence: Provide full and accurate category market intelligence by leading and performing in-depth analysis, understanding market drivers, and cost structures across the category level.
• Negotiation Leadership: Develop and lead negotiation strategies to maximize total value, minimize risk, and achieve defined cost savings and customer satisfaction targets.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree and typically 10 plus years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing.
• Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience, including influencing cross-functional leaders in a large organization, managing a budget, workload, headcount, and a team, and interacting with Executive Committee members.
• Skills: Strong leadership, management, planning, organizational, analytical, continuous improvement skills, business acumen, strategic vision, tactical planning, sound judgment, complex issue resolution, and negotiation for win-win outcomes.
• Bonus: MBA or advanced degree in a related discipline.
