Facilities Manager | First Rowlett United Methodist Church

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at First Rowlett United Methodist Church, located in Rowlett, TX. This organization encompasses both the church and the Wesleyan Christian Academy. This critical role ensures the daily facilities, operations, and maintenance of the church campus run smoothly. The Facilities Manager is essential for maintaining a safe, functional, and compliant environment that meets the needs of the congregation, staff, and academy.

• Pay: $55000 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Co-Senior Pastor
• Mission: To ensure the maintenance, service, and security of the building and grounds for the church and Wesleyan Christian Academy.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Management: Manage the day-to-day facilities, operations, and maintenance activities across the church and campus.
• Maintenance & Repair: Perform basic maintenance tasks including routine HVAC system preventative maintenance, light fixture repair, trash/recycling management, carpet cleaning, and painting.
• Vendor & Contract Oversight: Oversee and manage contracts for essential services such as fire protection, mechanical systems, janitorial work, and landscaping.
• Compliance & Bidding: Solicit bids for various contracts including painting, plumbing, and cleaning, while ensuring facilities comply with local and federal safety regulations and licenses.
• Preventative Planning: Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule, track equipment warranties, and recommend equipment replacement proactively to avoid failures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma.
• Experience: Demonstrated managerial experience and abilities, combined with practical knowledge of building upkeep, purchasing, supplies, groundskeeping, and equipment repair.
• Skills: Competency in general building maintenance methods, basic principles of carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical work, and the ability to operate hand and power equipment safely.
