General Manager | Advance Auto Parts

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Advance Auto Parts, located in Sinking Spring, PA. Advance Auto Parts is committed to inspiring its team, helping customers succeed, and growing the business with integrity. This professional-level sales and management position supports both the retail and professional sides of the business, requiring an understanding of store systems, automotive knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot for DIY customers. The role is critical for developing Professional Customer relationships, driving program growth, achieving financial metrics, and maintaining service and appearance standards within the store.

• Mission: Owns achieving store sales and service objectives, managing professional customer relationships, and ensuring operational excellence and team development.
• Tech Stack: Store systems, POS and Parts lookup systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, inventory systems, store equipment, testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales & Service: Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives for both DIY and Professional customers.
• Customer Relations: Manage and grow Professional Customer relationships/sales, including building and holding the team accountable to executing Customer action plans.
• Team Leadership: Select, hire, develop, manage performance, coach, schedule, and engage store Team Members.
• Operational Oversight: Ensure execution of all inventory and operational standards across the store.
• Duty Management: Perform manager on duty responsibilities including coaching, floor/phone management, task assignment and completion, safety, and open/close duties.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager career level with a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Working knowledge of automotive systems is preferred.
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10 – 20 Team Members in a fast-paced retail environment. Successful experience managing profitability and proven financial and business acumen are required, along with a valid driver’s license.
• Skills: Speak and write English effectively, use Microsoft Word and Excel effectively, calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and gross profit percent, review and analyze business reports (e.g., P&L), and hold others accountable while providing inspiring feedback.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in business or a related area, Spanish language skills, and ASE Certification are preferred.
