The Tone:
This is a full-time relationship management and sales servicing role at Neuberger Berman, located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Neuberger Berman builds and offers a broad set of public and private market investment strategies. This role is vital for expanding the firm’s presence within large institutions, particularly superfunds, by identifying new opportunities, deepening existing relationships, and delivering tailored, value-added services. The Relationship Manager will be instrumental in forging close connections with senior client representatives and internal investment experts.

• Mission: Penetrate large institutional clients, predominantly superfunds, through prospecting, cross-selling, and managing existing relationships.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Engagement: Partner with the client coverage team on day-to-day tasks and new business development, including meeting preparation, product targeting, roadshow planning, and responding to client requests.
• Relationship Building: Develop and maintain deep relationships across superannuation funds, asset consultants, and insurance companies, expanding the firm’s presence through multiple client touch points.
• Strategic Account Planning: Collaborate with Client Advisors to develop and execute individual client relationship plans, understanding client asset allocation and identifying new business opportunities.
• Investment Due Diligence & Coordination: Plan for, attend, and coordinate portfolio manager roadshows and portfolio review meetings, supporting client investment due diligence on new and existing business.
• Internal Partnership: Liaise with global investment teams and product specialists to enhance service delivery and support Client Advisors in the coordination and production of RFPs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior professional with a strong undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline, possessing a sophisticated understanding of markets and institutional asset management.
• Experience: 7-10 years of relevant institutional asset management experience, preferably in a multi-asset class environment, covering SMA and commingled fund products.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; detail-oriented with strong organisational and follow-up skills; knowledge of portfolio construction and various asset classes.
• Bonus: High degree of interest in financial markets and investment strategy, with a desire to expand knowledge across a range of asset classes.
