• Location: In-person, Houston, TX
• Pay: $70500 yearly
• Team: Reports to Principal; manages Special Education teachers, Special Education Teaching Assistants, and a Compliance Specialist.
• Mission: This role ensures special education students receive outstanding, compliant services, achieve academic success, and are empowered to lead choice-filled lives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Student Achievement: Lead the development and execution of strategies to achieve increased academic outcomes for students in Special Education on IEP goals, standards, and assessments.
• Team Leadership: Manage, evaluate, and develop a team of Special Education teachers, teaching assistants, and a compliance specialist to ensure outstanding instructional delivery for students with disabilities.
• Compliance Oversight: Maintain high Special Education compliance by demonstrating knowledge of IEP content, timelines, and law, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all required paperwork.
• Instructional Development: Design and deliver professional learning opportunities for campus staff on relevant Special Education topics such as differentiation, specially designed instruction, and inclusive practices.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Sit on the campus leadership team to develop action plans and collaborate with general education staff to ensure rigorous, aligned, active, and accessible learning for all students.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution; at least 3 years of teaching experience in Special Education; Texas Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience: At least 3 years of teaching experience in Special Education with demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team of educators.
• Skills: Coaching and evaluating Special Education teachers; comprehensive knowledge of IEP content, compliance timelines, and Special Education law; curriculum design and implementation for students with disabilities; planning and delivering professional development; ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain emotional control under stress.
• Bonus: At least 4 or more years of teaching experience in Special Education; fluent in Spanish.
