Business Office Manager | Pikes Peak Post Acute

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Pikes Peak Post Acute, located in the Diablo Valley region of California. Pikes Peak Post Acute provides critical post-acute care services, supporting patient recovery and well-being after hospital stays. The Business Office Manager is a key operational leader, responsible for ensuring the seamless financial and administrative functioning of the facility, directly impacting residents and their families.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Authorizations & Applications: Obtain necessary managed care and Medi-Cal/Medicaid authorizations, including critical bed holds, and provide essential assistance to residents and families throughout their Medi-Cal/Medicaid application processes.
• Financial Operations: Manage resident trust funds, encompassing the printing and distribution of monthly statements, and actively participate in all billing and payment processes, including the preparation of bank deposits.
• Staff Supervision: Supervise, coach, and manage the performance of business office staff, assigning and monitoring work activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness in meeting operational requirements.
• Census & Compliance: Maintain accurate facility census records, report all resident status changes, track Medi-Cal/Medicaid redeterminations, prepare TARS, and ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Collections Management: Perform all collection activities related to outstanding accounts and bad debt, following up on work results to ensure financial accountability.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Managerial level understanding of business office systems and healthcare administration, with a particular focus on the operational and financial intricacies of skilled nursing or post-acute care environments.
• Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience in managing processes related to Medi-Cal/Medicaid, managed care authorizations, comprehensive billing and collections, and the oversight of resident trust accounts.
• Skills: Strong leadership abilities, effective staff supervision, exceptional organizational skills, clear and concise communication, and robust problem-solving capabilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and specialized healthcare billing software is also required.
• Bonus: Prior direct experience serving in a Business Office Manager role within a skilled nursing facility or post-acute care center.
