What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Keeping: Prepare and review financial records, including general ledgers, balance sheets, and income statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Payroll & Reconciliation: Manage payroll processing, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
• Tax Preparation: Prepare sales tax returns and assist with various tax-related documentation.
• Client Communication: Communicate with clients to gather information, address questions, and provide clear explanations of financial reports and tax obligations.
• Financial Closing: Support month-end and year-year-end closing activities, contribute to process improvements, and maintain organized and secure financial records.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
• Experience: Proficiency with accounting and payroll software, Microsoft Excel, and other office applications, alongside practical experience in payroll processing and understanding of sales tax requirements.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills, clear written and verbal communication skills with a focus on client service, and the ability to work on-site, maintain confidentiality, and follow firm policies.
• Bonus: Prior experience in public accounting, tax preparation, or small business accounting is preferred, and bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus.
