Inventory Planner | Hermès
The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at Hermès, located in the US. Hermès is an independent, family-owned French house, founded in 1837, dedicated to creating highly-crafted, beautiful objects with humanist values, operating globally across 49 countries. This role is crucial for managing the strategic distribution of products and maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring alignment with customer demand to support the company’s sales and inventory objectives.
The TL;DR

• Pay: $70000–$80000 yearly
• Team: Planning and Allocation team; reports to Manager or leadership
• Mission: Manages strategic product distribution and optimal stock levels to meet customer demand and support sales and inventory goals.
• Tech Stack: Power BI dashboards, Excel, various stock management tools
What You’ll Actually Do
• Allocation Planning: Manage product allocation across boutiques and channels according to distribution guidelines.
• Inventory Monitoring: Track store-level sales trends, inventory positions, and stock health, flagging imbalances, stock-outs, and capacity concerns.
• Performance Analysis: Conduct sales analysis and assess SKU- and store-level product performance to inform assortment and prioritization decisions.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Merchandising, Logistics, Retail Operations, and IT to support product launches and key business initiatives.
• System & Data Management: Maintain store profiles by department to adjust replenishment priorities and upkeep a replenishment attribution database.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Inventory Planning, Retail Planning, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Experience: 2–3 years of experience in allocation, planning, or merchandise management, preferably with leadership or mentoring experience.
• Skills: High proficiency in retail math and Excel, including data analysis, forecasting, and modeling; exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills for managing and interpreting large datasets.
• Bonus: Proven ability to coach, mentor, and guide team members; comfortable making data-grounded allocation decisions; strong ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt; demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and resolve issues; ability to collaborate effectively across all levels.
