The Tone
This is a full-time role at Charles River Associates, with a hybrid work model expecting 3-4 days in-office weekly, which may include travel to other CRA offices or client locations. The position contributes directly to high-stakes matters by delivering clear, defensible insights through detailed forensic accounting investigations, data-driven dispute support, and rigorous, fact-based analysis.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Forensic Accounting Procedures: Perform transaction-level testing by meticulously reviewing supporting documentation such as contracts, invoices, or bank records, to thoroughly assess the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of recorded financial activity.
• Flow of Funds Analysis: Conduct detailed flow of funds analyses to precisely trace the movement of monies, supporting investigations into allegations of bribery, corruption, or asset misappropriation.
• Data Investigation and Review: Investigate and analyze both structured and unstructured financial and operational evidence, including general ledgers and financial statements, reviewing and summarizing client documents, third-party data, and legal documents to identify key information and discern relevant patterns.
• Reporting and Client Deliverables: Draft preliminary memos and comprehensive reports to clearly summarize procedures performed and observations identified, while also assisting in the creation, development, and quality control of all client-facing deliverables.
• Economic and Financial Advisory: Support senior experts in conducting analyses of various types of data, including macro and micro economic, corporate financial, operational, market, and industry data, and prepare quantum of damages models based on client’s and opponent’s financial information for litigation support.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting is required for this role.
• Experience: Possess 2-4 years of professional experience in accounting, audit, and/or forensic accounting, coupled with demonstrated experience in gathering, standardizing, and analyzing voluminous transactional electronic data.
• Skills: Strong analytic skills, including intermediate or advanced Excel experience, and the ability to effectively communicate with project managers to prioritize tasks and execute responsibilities efficiently under pressure.
• Bonus: A CPA designation and/or other relevant certifications or advanced degrees are preferred.
