Order Selector | Family Fare Supermarkets
The Tone:
This is an Order Selector position at Family Fare Supermarkets, located in Pensacola, Florida. Family Fare Supermarkets is part of SpartanNash, a food solutions company and member of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family of companies. SpartanNash operates as a distributor, wholesaler, and retailer with a global supply chain, delivering groceries and household goods across all 50 states. This role is crucial in ensuring that customer orders are accurately selected and prepared, directly contributing to the company’s mission of delivering the ingredients for a better life.
The TL;DR
• Role: Order Selector
• Type: 4-day work week
• Location: In-person, Pensacola, FL
• Pay: $19.50/hour
• Team: Member of a team within SpartanNash, a C&S Wholesale Grocers family company, focused on serving customers
• Mission: To accurately select products from warehouse racks and assemble, palletize, and/or shrink wrap them for customer orders.
• Tech Stack: Powered industrial equipment (e.g., single and double pallet jacks)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Locate products: Locate and lift cases, boxes, bags, and pallets of dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy, produce, and meats in specific quantities using order sheets or an audio headset.
• Operate equipment: Operate powered industrial equipment, such as single and double pallet jacks, as required for tasks.
• Maintain safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by conducting inspections of powered industrial equipment using a safety checklist.
• Report issues: Report damaged products, any quality concerns, and out-of-stock or low volume products to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare orders: Utilize proper wrapping techniques to securely assemble and shrink wrap products or pallets, preventing damage during transport.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level.
• Experience: Must perform assigned tasks accurately while meeting production standards. Prior Order Selecting experience and prior experience operating power industrial equipment are preferred.
• Skills: Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment according to company safety policies; ability to work in multi-temperature areas (freezer, coolers, dry conditions); ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Bonus: High school diploma or GED preferred.
