The Tone:
This is a part-time role at New Ulm Area Foundation, located in New Ulm, MN. The New Ulm Area Foundation is a vital organization dedicated to supporting local grantmaking and community engagement within the area. This Executive Director position is central to leading the Foundation’s operational activities, driving its fundraising efforts, and fostering strong community relationships to further its mission.
The TL;DR

• Team: Works closely with the Board
• Mission: To lead the Foundation’s operations, fundraising, and community engagement efforts to support local grantmaking.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Leadership: Oversee and manage the daily operational activities of the New Ulm Area Foundation.
• Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement effective strategies to secure financial resources for the Foundation’s initiatives.
• Community Engagement: Build and maintain robust relationships with community members, organizations, and key stakeholders.
• Grantmaking Support: Collaborate closely with the Board to facilitate and support the Foundation’s local grantmaking processes.
• Independent Management: Exercise autonomous judgment and leadership in executing the Foundation’s objectives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Executive-level leadership experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to work independently, taking initiative and ownership of key responsibilities.
• Skills: Possess strong organizational capabilities to efficiently manage multiple facets of the Foundation’s work.
• Skills: Exhibit excellent communication skills for effective interaction with the Board, community members, and potential donors.
• Bonus: Prior experience in nonprofit operations, fundraising campaigns, or similar community-focused roles is preferred.
