This Purchasing Manager / Assistant Purchasing Manager role is critical to operations, ensuring the company consistently has the necessary high-quality materials to meet production deadlines and exceed client expectations for luxury marine vessels.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Procurement: Source, negotiate, and procure high-quality marine-grade materials, fabrics, and hardware from a network of trusted suppliers.
• Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with both new and existing suppliers to ensure favourable terms, reliable delivery, and consistent material quality.
• Inventory Management: Strategically manage inventory levels to optimise stock availability, prevent critical shortages, and minimise carrying costs effectively.
• Order Processing: Accurately process all purchase orders and meticulously ensure the timely delivery of all required materials for production.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and conduct thorough quality control checks to ensure all procured goods consistently meet the company’s strict quality standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Proven experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role. The specific level of experience will determine appointment as either an Assistant Purchasing Manager or a Purchasing Manager.
• Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management skills are essential for this role; Strong organisational and time-management abilities with meticulous attention to detail; Proficiency in procurement software and the Microsoft Office Suite; Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Prior experience within the marine, textiles, or a bespoke manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.
