The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Advance Auto Parts, located in Central Square, NY. As a General Manager, you will be crucial to the success of a leading automotive parts retailer, driving both DIY and Professional customer engagement. What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy: Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives for both DIY and Professional customers.
• Customer Growth: Manage and grow Professional Customer relationships, including building and ensuring team execution of customer action plans.
• Team Leadership: Select, hire, develop, manage performance, coach, schedule, and engage all store Team Members.
• Operations: Ensure the execution of all inventory and operational standards within the store.
• Coaching: Coach all Team Members to deliver on customer expectations for both DIY and Professional segments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Managerial career level. Requires a high school diploma or GED; a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related area is preferred. Possess an understanding of store systems, automotive systems, and parts knowledge.
• Experience: 2-3 years managing a team of 10-20 Team Members in a fast-paced retail environment. Proven successful experience managing profitability with demonstrated financial and business acumen. Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Skills: Effectively speak and write English; able to communicate and build strong relationships with Customers, peers, and upper management. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Capable of calculating figures (discounts, percentages, sales increases, gross profit percent) and reviewing/analyzing business reports like the P&L statement. Ability to hold others accountable, inspect work quality, and provide inspiring feedback. Able to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related area. Working knowledge of automotive systems. Spanish language skills are a plus. Ability to become ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
