Accounting Intern | Mishimoto
The Tone:
This is an internship role at Mishimoto, located in Garnet Valley, PA. Mishimoto designs and engineers solutions for automotive enthusiasts, focusing on performance cooling and other vehicle improvements to elevate performance, reliability, and design. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience within the company’s Finance & Accounting team, providing essential support for daily operations and contributing to accurate financial data in a real-world business environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage invoice entry, payment processing, and reconciliations related to accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Month/Year-End Close: Prepare and process journal entries and account reconciliations to support month-end and year-year close activities.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial records.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the compilation and presentation of financial reports, summaries, and presentations for management review.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial research and analysis on data, variances, and trends as directed by the Senior Accountant.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, preferably with sophomore standing or above. Completion of introductory accounting coursework, such as Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting, is strongly preferred to ensure foundational knowledge.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is strictly required, though previous internships, part-time work, or coursework-related experience in an accounting or finance setting is considered a strong advantage for this role.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and pivot tables, is essential. Candidates must possess strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data entry and financial reporting. Key analytical thinking, numerical aptitude, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines are also required. Strong written and verbal communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and a highly organized, methodical approach to work are critical.
• Bonus: Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or NetSuite, as well as experience with larger ERP systems like NetSuite or SAP. An interest in pursuing a CPA license and familiarity with the automotive or e-commerce industry would also be beneficial for this position.
