This is a role supporting a company in the Oil & Gas Services environment, located in Chesterfield, Virginia. This position is pivotal in supporting both people operations and day-to-day office coordination for the organization. What You’ll Actually Do
• HR Operations Management: Direct and manage core human resources activities encompassing the full employment lifecycle, including hiring processes, orientation, employee transitions, payroll coordination, benefits support, and workplace relations.
• HRIS Administration: Oversee comprehensive HRIS administration within the Workforce Now platform, managing functions such as applicant tracking, onboarding steps, ongoing employee data maintenance, and critical payroll-related workflows.
• Compliance and Policy Development: Maintain strict adherence to all federal, state, and local employment requirements, including necessary documentation and reporting for affirmative action obligations, while also creating and refining HR policies that align with business needs and foster a positive employee experience.
• Employee and Leadership Partnership: Partner effectively with leaders across various departments on strategic staffing plans, facilitate crucial performance discussions, and support employee growth initiatives, alongside addressing employee concerns with professionalism, guiding conflict resolution, and sustaining a respectful, inclusive work environment.
• Office & Administrative Leadership: Manage all aspects of office administration, which includes coordinating necessary supplies, facilitating vendor communication, arranging travel, ensuring proper records retention, handling incoming calls, and managing visitor reception.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager. Core domain knowledge in human resources operations and comprehensive office administration.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience managing multiple HR functions, including employee relations, comprehensive onboarding processes, accurate payroll, and benefits administration. This includes a working knowledge of HRIS platforms, with proficiency in managing records, workflows, and reporting within structured system environments.
• Skills: Strong understanding of employment law compliance and effective HR policy administration across federal, state, and local requirements. Ability to collaborate effectively with managers and employees at all levels, handling sensitive matters with discretion. Proven organizational skills with the capacity to oversee office operations and prioritize a varied workload efficiently. Clear written and verbal communication skills, including supporting employees and preparing accurate documentation and reports. Experience improving administrative or workplace processes to support smoother daily operations, coupled with a detail-oriented and welcoming approach to front-office responsibilities.
