Junior Accountant | Mach Industries
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mach Industries, operating in-person. Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company with approximately 350 employees, focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. This role is crucial for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting across the organization by maintaining accurate financial records and enabling efficient business operations for a company dedicated to redefining the future of warfare.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain Financial Records: Maintain and accurately enter financial data within QuickBooks and internal accounting systems, while preparing and organizing comprehensive financial records and supporting documentation.
• Support AP & Expense Management: Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination, and assist with account reconciliations, expense reporting, and transaction verification.
• Track Project Costs: Monitor project costs, labor charges, and program-related financial activity to ensure precise financial oversight for various projects.
• Assist Reporting & Analysis: Contribute to monthly and quarterly financial reporting activities, generate financial summaries for leadership and program teams, and support budget preparation, forecasting, and internal financial analysis.
• Ensure Data Integrity: Review accounting data for discrepancies or inconsistencies and escalate issues as needed, and assist with journal entries and financial data reviews under the guidance of the Finance Director.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: 0-2+ years of accounting experience, including internships or entry-level finance roles, with familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar systems.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is also required.
• Bonus: Experience supporting finance or accounting operations within government contracting, aerospace, manufacturing, or defense environments; familiarity with DCAA, FAR, or government accounting practices; experience working with expense reporting, reconciliations, or financial tracking systems; exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or project cost tracking; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; self-starter capable of learning quickly and adapting to changing priorities; high level of professionalism and discretion when handling financial information; and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
