Director of Health & Wellness | Morningside House Senior Living

The Tone:
This is a leadership role at Morningside House Senior Living, an in-person position. The TL;DR
• Location: In-person

• Team: Reports to the Executive Director, overseeing the health and wellness department.
• Mission: To provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of nursing care and services, ensuring compliance with Morningside Elite Management standards and state requirements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Department Oversight: Oversee all day-to-day functions of the health and wellness department, encompassing resident care and personnel management.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to and exceeding of established policies, procedures, Morningside House standards, and all relevant state and federal regulations for senior living facilities.
• Staff Supervision: Supervise assigned health and wellness staff, including hiring, conducting performance evaluations, addressing disciplinary issues, and facilitating orientations and ongoing training.
• Resident Management: Directly responsible for the oversight and completion of all requests for assessments to determine admission eligibility and ongoing management of current residents, including routine wellness visits and monitoring health status changes.
• Communication & Documentation: Facilitate clear communication with family members, powers of attorney, and physicians regarding resident conditions and changes in status, ensuring all required documentation and verifications are accurately completed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license is required, along with a Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a healthcare or senior living context.
• Experience: Must have supervisory experience specifically within a senior living setting.
• Skills: Valid Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification; ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations for senior living facilities; strong leadership skills for staff supervision and development; proficiency in managing resident care and health status monitoring; and excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and medical professionals.
