The Tone:
This is an essential Staff Accountant role at Jabil, Inc., a global organization. You will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records and directly supporting the overall financial stability and health of the company. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of accounting tasks, all while ensuring strict adherence to both company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position is vital for sustaining transparent financial operations and providing reliable data for decision-making across the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transactional Accounting: Prepare and accurately post journal entries with proper coding, and systematically reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial records to ensure data integrity and resolve any discrepancies.
• Financial Reporting: Actively assist with critical month-end and year-end closing processes, playing a role in the timely and accurate preparation of comprehensive financial statements for the organization.
• Operational Support: Provide essential support to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed, and process payroll-related transactions to maintain seamless daily financial operations.
• Asset Management & Compliance: Maintain precise fixed asset records and their associated depreciation schedules, while also ensuring strict adherence to company policies, internal controls, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
• Audit & Process Enhancement: Assist with both internal and external audits by gathering and providing necessary documentation and explanations, and collaborate with other departments to identify and recommend improvements to existing accounting processes and procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, demonstrating a strong foundational understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to ensure compliant financial practices.
• Experience: Bring 1-2 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing or multinational corporate environment, which will provide valuable context for Jabil’s operations.
• Skills: Exhibit strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functionalities such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex formulas; demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities to navigate financial challenges; and display meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Bonus: Prior experience utilizing major ERP systems like SAP or Oracle is highly desirable, offering a significant advantage for integrating into Jabil’s financial infrastructure.
