General Manager II | Advance Auto Parts
The Tone:
This is a full-time management role at Advance Auto Parts, located in Longwood, FL. Advance Auto Parts is a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider dedicated to serving both do-it-yourself customers and professional installers. As a General Manager, you will be instrumental in inspiring the store team, ensuring customer success, and driving business growth with integrity. This professional-level position requires comprehensive understanding of store and automotive systems, parts knowledge, and the ability to foster strong customer relationships to meet financial and operational goals.

• Team: Manages a team of 10-20 Team Members, with occasional support to District/Region leadership.
• Mission: Achieve financial metrics, maintain service and appearance standards, and grow the business with integrity by inspiring the team and ensuring customer success.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft software (Word, Excel required; PowerPoint preferred), POS and Parts lookup systems, inventory systems, testing and diagnostic equipment.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Drive Performance: Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives by leading and motivating the team.
• Cultivate Relationships: Manage and grow Professional Customer relationships and sales programs, including building and executing customer action plans.
• Develop Talent: Oversee the selection, hiring, development, performance management, coaching, scheduling, and engagement of all store Team Members.
• Ensure Compliance: Guarantee the execution of all inventory and operational standards within the store.
• Deliver Service: Coach all Team Members to consistently provide excellent service for both DIY and Professional Customers.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager level. A high school diploma or GED is required. Candidates must possess a strong working knowledge of automotive systems, store operations, and parts identification.
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10-20 team members within a retail environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate proven financial and business acumen, including managing profitability. This exempt position requires a minimum of 50-55 hours per week, typically 5-6 days with 11-hour shifts, including rotating nights and weekends.
• Skills: Ability to speak and write effectively in English, with Spanish proficiency being a plus, and to build strong customer and team relationships. Demonstrated capability in using Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficiency in calculating figures like discounts and gross profit percentages, analyzing P&L statements, and reviewing business reports. The role also requires the ability to hold others accountable, inspect work quality, and provide inspiring feedback, alongside advanced parts lookup and sourcing skills.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, a valid driver’s license, ASE certification, and proficiency in Spanish or PowerPoint.
