Founded in 2005, Sunwest Real Estate Group is a boutique commercial real estate firm specializing in investment, management, and leasing of commercial properties throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This position is crucial for supporting the financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and analytical needs of the property management division, offering broad exposure to financial and operational aspects of commercial real estate. • Mission: To support the financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and analytical needs of the property management division for various property owners.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Yardi Voyager (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Prepare and maintain property-level cash flow forecasts and other financial models, including annual operating budgets and periodic reforecasts.
• Expense Analysis: Assist with operating expense and triple-net (NNN) reconciliations, analyzing recoverable expenses, tenant allocations, and lease-specific provisions.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and review monthly property financial reporting packages and supporting schedules for property management, clients, and ownership.
• Accounting Support: Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, bank reconciliations, and cash management activities.
• Tenant Accounts: Record and apply tenant rent payments, prepayments, and concessions, while coordinating with Property Management on related accounting matters.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, real estate, or a related field; strong financial acumen and an interest in commercial real estate finance, accounting, and operations.
• Experience: 1-3 years of relevant professional experience, or strong entry-level candidates with applicable internship experience.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data analysis, financial modeling); strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent attention to detail; strong organizational skills.
• Bonus: Commercial real estate experience, including software such as Yardi Voyager.
