Lean Operations/Continuous Improvement Intern | GE Vernova

What You’ll Actually Do
• Daily Management: Support the effective implementation of Daily Management systems within the plant environment, specifically utilizing new software like iObeya to enhance operational control and visibility.
• Digital Lean Initiatives: Drive the adoption of digital Lean initiatives, assisting with the application of tools such as Power BI, Excel, and Smartsheet to streamline processes and generate insights.
• Problem Solving & Analysis: Support problem-solving activities using established Lean methodologies, while also conducting data gathering, tracking, and analysis to identify improvement opportunities and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Process Optimization: Help identify process improvement opportunities across plant operations and actively support the execution of action plans to enhance efficiency, quality, and delivery.
• Continuous Improvement Deployment: Collaborate with various plant teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment of continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Standard Work, and participate in Kaizen events aimed at improving Safety, Quality, and Delivery.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field, with a strong interest in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and plant operations.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other basic data/reporting tools; ability to work in a manufacturing or operational environment with cross-functional teams.
• Skills: Analytical mindset with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret data; strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Bonus: Exposure to Lean principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management, Value Stream Mapping), experience with data analysis and reporting, or familiarity with manufacturing or plant operations.
