Job Description

2026 Internship, Fall – Academy Scout | Red Bull New York

The Tone:
This is an unpaid, for credit internship at Red Bull New York, located in Harrison, New Jersey. Red Bull New York is one of 30 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS), established as one of the ten charter clubs in 1996 and owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull. The organization offers premier youth soccer development programs, spanning local partnerships, Regional Development Schools, and the Red Bulls Academy teams. This role supports the player identification and recruitment process through video analysis, offering hands-on experience within a professional youth academy.

• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, Hudl Sportscode, Hudl, Spiideo, Wyscout, or similar platforms (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support the player identification and recruitment process within a professional youth academy through video analysis.
• Develop practical technical skills in video analysis, including clipping, organizing, and presenting player footage using industry-standard software.
• Understand the fundamentals of professional academy scouting, talent identification, and player evaluation workflows.
• Gain experience organizing scouting databases, maintaining video libraries, and preparing materials for internal scouting discussions.
• Collaborate with Academy staff, gaining insight into the day-to-day operations of a Major League Soccer academy.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and eligible to receive academic credit for the internship. Pursuing a degree in Sport Management, Sports Analytics, Performance Analysis, Coaching, Data Analytics, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Experience: Comfortable reviewing large amounts of match footage and identifying key player actions.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Bonus: Passionate about soccer, player development, scouting, and performance analysis. Experience with video analysis software (Hudl Sportscode, Hudl, Spiideo, Wyscout, or similar platforms) is preferred.
