• Team: Leads and supervises personnel within the dietary department, coordinating with other facility departments and reporting to facility management.
• Mission: Organizes, plans, directs, controls, and supervises all food and nutrition services to residents in a long-term care facility, ensuring quality dining programs and full compliance with all standards and regulations.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Organize, plan, direct, control, and supervise all functions and personnel within the dietary department to provide comprehensive food and nutrition services to residents.
• Manage: Interview, hire, and orient dietary staff, provide training, evaluate their work quality, and ensure proper staffing levels for continuous service delivery.
• Ensure: Develop and lead high-quality dining programs that significantly enhance the meal experience for residents, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations.
• Control: Forecast and plan the purchase of all necessary supplies and equipment, managing the departmental budget for a cost-effective operation.
• Cultivate: Actively maintain excellent relations with residents, visitors, and all community departments, participate in facility meetings, and promote overall resident satisfaction through quality assurance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s or higher degree in food service management or hospitality, including a course of study in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Experience: At least two years of food service supervisory experience is required; preferred experience includes at least two years in long-term care.
• Skills: ServSafe Certification for Managers (National Restaurant Association); Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP); skilled in motivating and supervising staff members; excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, and quality attitude; strong public speaking, stress management, administrative, organizational, and follow-through skills; proficient in Windows-based office software.
