The Tone:
This is an internship / early career role at Southland Holdings, located in multiple locations nationwide. For over 100 years, Southland Holdings has combined the strengths of six infrastructure construction companies dedicated to building critical infrastructure projects. These projects improve the environment and the lives of those around us. This role matters as it provides practical on-the-job experience, beginning to prepare you for a challenging Engineering career within the company.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship / Early Career
• Type: Full-time
• Location: In-person, multiple locations nationwide

• Mission: To assist with construction phase activities and general office duties, gaining practical experience that prepares interns for a challenging Engineering career with Southland Holdings.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Construction Support: Assist with various construction phase activities, including observation and providing general oversight.
• Staking & Administration: Perform construction staking and execute construction administration duties such as documenting activities.
• Measurement & Interaction: Conduct measuring and testing, and actively interact with contractors and sub-contractors on jobsites.
• Office & Design Assistance: Assist with general office duties, surveying tasks, quantity calculations, estimates, plan specifications, and project design.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution or a recent Graduate, working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in CIVIL OR CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING. Career level: Entry-Level.
• Experience: No prior experience is specifically required, as this internship focuses on gaining practical on-the-job experience.
• Skills: Ability to read, speak and write English.
