Category Sourcing Analyst II – Procurement | Cargill

What You’ll Actually Do
Conduct Analysis: Perform advanced category and spend analysis using internal procurement systems and external market data to generate actionable insights for sourcing strategies and cost optimization.
Develop Tools: Design and develop more complex analytical modeling tools and systems to support procurement functions.
Interpret Data: Conduct complex analyses that require a general understanding of data management and analytics data design principles, concepts, and practices.
Solve Problems: Independently resolve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, escalating more intricate problems to appropriate staff as necessary.
Research Trends: Research data, market information, and trends to inform strategic decisions and share best practices across the organization.

The Must-Haves
Background: A professional with an understanding of procurement, sourcing, and market intelligence concepts, prepared to handle moderately complex analytical tasks.
Experience: Minimum of two years of related work experience, with a preference for previous strategic sourcing/procurement experience and demonstrated financial, mathematical, and modeling expertise.
Skills: Ability to conduct advanced category and spend analysis, design analytical modeling tools, apply data management and analytics data design principles, and synthesize complex data to provide actionable recommendations.
Bonus: Experience designing tools and reports that support category strategy documentation, initiative tracking, value realization, supplier performance visibility, and risk management; experience using AI for data-driven decision making; and experience using SAP.
