This role supports plant operations by assisting with essential financial reporting, inventory management, cost reduction analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles, directly contributing to the company’s financial health and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting & Analysis: Assist with the preparation of weekly production reports, finished inventories, transfers from other plants, and other reports summarizing business activity, operational expenses, and variances, including weekly estimates.
• Month-End & Audits: Support the Accounting Manager with various duties, including month-end closing and reporting, conducting physical inventory test counts and adjustments, and performing payroll and asset audits.
• Cost Reduction & Budgeting: Work closely with operations to identify and analyze opportunities for cost reduction through detailed reporting and analysis, and assist in the preparation of operational and capital budgets.
• Financial Controls: Aid in the development and implementation of internal control procedures and standards, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory controls and accuracy, including daily analysis of raw material receipts, to maintain precise records and support efficient operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent job experience. Understanding of accounting and auditing principles and practices, fiscal recordkeeping, payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, and cost accounting.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in plant production accounting. Practical knowledge of an ERP system such as SAP, along with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft applications.
• Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Skill in examining and verifying financial documents and reports. Demonstrated leadership and team skills, coupled with knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, methods, and equipment.
