The Tone:
This is a full-time operations role at Westport Axle Co., a a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc., through its subsidiary Westport Axle Co., is a leading third-party logistics provider offering extensive supply chain services. This specific operation manages a dedicated warehouse facility responsible for the complete lifecycle of automotive parts, from receiving to shipping, including crucial Just-in-Time deliveries. This role is vital for supervising daily operations and leading a team to ensure the continuous, efficient, and accurate flow of automotive components, upholding critical quality and safety standards within a responsive environment.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Full-time (B-Crew: Tuesday – Friday 6:00pm – 4:30am)
• Location: In-person

• Mission: Own the daily execution and supervision of warehouse activities, ensuring accurate and on-time delivery of automotive parts in a Just-in-Time environment.
• Tech Stack: Warehouse management systems (WMS), basic reporting tools

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Management: Directly supervise all daily warehouse operations, encompassing receiving, picking, packing, storage, shipping, and critical Just-in-Time (JIT) line-side deliveries to maintain continuous workflow.
• Team Leadership: Lead, train, and foster the development of warehouse associates, guiding them to consistently meet and exceed performance, quality, and safety expectations.
• Delivery Assurance: Ensure the precise and on-time shipment of automotive parts and equipment to a diverse range of destinations, including dealers, warehouses, distribution centers, and direct assembly lines.
• Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor labor utilization, productivity levels, and overall workflow to effectively achieve and sustain operational goals and adapt to the demands of a JIT environment.
• Compliance & Improvement: Strictly enforce all established safety standards, company policies, and work procedures, while proactively identifying and championing continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, quality, and cost control.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a supervisory background in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment, indicating a foundational understanding of operational workflows.
• Experience: Possess 2–5 years of direct supervisory experience; demonstrate working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic reporting tools for operational oversight.
• Skills: Exhibit strong leadership and communication abilities, alongside the capability to effectively manage multiple priorities within a high-volume setting.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include prior experience within the automotive supply chain or Just-in-Time (JIT) operations, as well as experience with forklift or powered industrial truck operation.
