Assistant Manager | Circle K

The Tone:
This is an Assistant Manager role at Circle K, located at Store 2723949 in York, South Carolina. In this key position, you will directly support the Store Manager in overseeing all stationstore operations, leading and developing a dedicated staff, and maintaining the highest standards of customer service and merchandising. Your contribution will be instrumental in ensuring efficient daily operations, executing our food program, and fostering a positive, productive atmosphere for both customers and team members.

• Team: Reports directly to the Store Manager, providing essential support in store oversight and leadership for all station staff.
• Mission: To collaborate with the Store Manager in leading daily operations, upholding high service and merchandising standards, and ensuring the successful execution of Circle K’s food program within a retail setting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Store Operations Management: Assist the Store Manager with comprehensive oversight of all Stationstore operations, including maintaining a regular and predictable onsite presence, demonstrating a sense of urgency, patience, and strong leadership.
• Team Management & Development: Actively participate in the hiring, supervising, teaching, and motivating of store staff, working closely with them to accomplish daily tasks and set a positive example.
• Financial Accuracy & Merchandising: Execute crucial bookkeeping responsibilities and manage merchandising efforts to ensure product availability, attractive displays, and accurate inventory.
• Customer Service Excellence: Maintain Circle K’s high standards by providing fast, friendly, and consistent service to all customers, fostering a welcoming environment.
• Food Program Execution: Oversee the successful implementation and ongoing execution of the company’s high-quality food program, ensuring adherence to all guidelines.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Managerial level role, requiring expertise in leading teams within a retail operational environment.
• Experience: Demonstrated retail experience, including significant supervisor or management responsibilities. Proven skills in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring are highly valued.
• Skills:
* Strong leadership capabilities for guiding, teaching, and motivating employees
* Adept at recruiting, interviewing, and making hiring decisions
* Proficient in cash-handling procedures and general bookkeeping
* Excellent planning, organizing, delegation, and follow-up skills
* Effective problem-solving, communication of plans/ideas, and interpersonal skills including advocacy and empathy
• Bonus: Prior experience specifically managing food preparation or service; a High School Diploma or College Degree(s).
