• Mission: Ensure the unit’s optimal performance by engaging in effective problem-solving for staff, patients, and families, and to develop and lead the assigned cohort.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Professional Development: Interact with and contribute to the professional development of your assigned cohort and other staff as needed.
• Quality and Standards: Define and ensure standards for quality patient care, facilitating education for staff on clinical standards.
• Unit Performance Management: Develop, manage, and evaluate the unit’s performance, overseeing multiple projects and aligning with strategic goals.
• Clinical Assignment Oversight: Ensure clinical assignments effectively match patient care needs with demonstrated staff competencies.
• Problem Resolution: Engage in effective problem-solving for staff, patients, and families to ensure optimal unit performance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. This is a direct supervisory leadership role within Acute Care of the Elderly nursing.
• Experience: 1 year of Registered Nurse (RN) experience, providing feedback and coaching to staff members.
• Skills: Demonstrates mastery of patient care including assessment and treatment, care planning, patient education, and evidence-based practice. Possesses the ability to conduct performance reviews, delegate tasks effectively, and coach subordinates on technical and interpersonal topics. Capable of realistically anticipating resource needs, identifying tasks, setting priorities, scheduling activities, and meeting deadlines within areas of direct responsibility.
• Bonus: A valid Tennessee Registered Nurse license or an active compact nursing license.
