Intern, Community | Hillspire

The Tone:
This is an internship at Hillspire, located in Arlington, VA. Hillspire is an integrated family office management company that supports the business and philanthropic activities of Eric and Wendy Schmidt and their family, serving over 700 employees worldwide with essential services like legal, finance, and IT. This role is crucial for an individual eager to contribute to the planning and execution of a wide range of convenings across the various Schmidt Entities, supporting a mission to foster a healthy, resilient, and secure world.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Event Planning Support: Collaborate with the Community Team to plan and execute events and convenings for various programs and initiatives.
• Project Coordination: Coordinate logistical aspects of events, including venue booking, managing travel arrangements, and vendor coordination.
• Event Execution: Provide on-site event support, assisting with set-up, logistics, and troubleshooting to ensure a seamless attendee experience.
• Administrative Support: Offer administrative support to the Community Team, including scheduling, note-taking, and other tasks as needed.
• Post-Event Follow-Up: Participate in debrief and feedback sessions after events to gather insights and identify areas for improvement.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment or recent graduate from a two or four-year degree program.
• Experience: Professional experience in event coordination or a professional office environment is a plus.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and technical proficiency with event-management platforms, relational databases, or project management tools.
• Bonus: Flexibility to travel within the U.S. up to 10% for event support.
