District Inventory Auditor | GPM Investments, LLC
The Tone:
This is a traveling field role at GPM Investments, LLC, requiring frequent in-person audits across an assigned market and occasional out-of-state travel. What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Inventories: Accurately count all physical inventories across various retail locations, including lottery items, importing collected data to a computer for processing, and completing required audit paperwork. The auditor will ensure the integrity of collected data and achieve established average per hour (APH) counting goals while performing 16-20 retail inventory audits monthly.
• Reconcile and Report: Generate comprehensive department audit reports by reconciling physical counts with computer data, meticulously identifying and reporting on all found errors and discrepancies to relevant stakeholders.
• Drive Improvement: Proactively collaborate with each department and store management to analyze identified errors, understand root causes, and implement strategies aimed at significantly reducing inventory accuracy issues across the organization.
• Support Operations: Conduct front-line accounting reviews at the store level, working closely with District Managers and Store Managers to identify specific store issues, assist with invoice concerns, and address price adjustments and other abnormalities discovered in the system.
• Assess Store Conditions: Perform visual checklists during each store visit, thoroughly documenting store conditions, maintenance issues, safety concerns, marketing promotions in place, and general loss prevention awareness to ensure operational standards are met.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Foundational understanding of inventory management principles, accounting review processes, and retail operational procedures to effectively audit and reconcile stock levels.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in conducting retail inventory audits, including physical counting, data processing, report generation, and error reconciliation. Proven ability to manage a demanding schedule of 16-20 monthly audits, collaborate with store personnel, and identify operational issues. Requires reliable transportation and availability for a 40-50 hour workweek, daily travel, and occasional out-of-state travel one week a month.
• Skills: Possesses strong detail-orientation, analytical capabilities, and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks. Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly relay information, foster cooperation, and build partnerships. Takes initiative to explore new approaches, demonstrates a can-do attitude, and is proficient in Microsoft Office and Open Office applications.
