Credit Analyst | Tree Line Capital Partners
The Tone:
This is a full-time, entry-level role at Tree Line Capital Partners, located in San Francisco, New York, or Austin with a hybrid work environment. Tree Line Capital Partners is a private credit asset management firm that builds direct lending solutions for lower middle market companies in North America. This role is crucial as Credit Analysts serve as primary leaders for account management and contribute significantly to new asset underwritings, supporting the firm’s investment, fundraising, and strategic initiatives. The program aims to equip Credit Analysts with exceptional technical, financial, and business skills, fostering leadership abilities and providing a pathway to the Associate Program for top performers.

• Mission: Provide comprehensive monitoring and analytical support for portfolio accounts and contribute to new asset underwritings to support the firm’s investment and strategic initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Leadership: Act as the primary day-to-day leader for account management, overseeing up to 12 portfolio accounts.
• Performance Analysis: Provide monthly monitoring and analytical support for accounts, including financial statement analysis, covenant compliance analysis, and overall risk and trend analysis.
• Committee Presentations: Present the status of assigned accounts to the Investment Committee on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Underwriting Support: Conduct financial analysis, model development, underwriting analysis, and industry research for new asset underwritings.
• Due Diligence Coordination: Prepare memos and presentations utilized during the due diligence phase of investments and coordinate the activities of all team members involved.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An Undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Business, with specializations such as Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics. This is an entry-level position within an intensive two-year program.
• Experience: 6 months to 1 year of professional experience in investment banking, commercial banking, accounting, or consulting.
• Skills: Strong quantitative skills including financial modeling, financial statement analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent organization, communication, and research skills with the ability to succinctly express and present ideas.
• Bonus: Superior academic achievement with demonstrated interest or competency in finance. Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative, along with the capacity to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, borrowers, and private equity sponsors. A strong ability to juggle priorities, multi-task, and take ownership of projects is essential.
