Accounting Intern | Robinson Helicopter Company

The Tone:
This is a full-time, temporary internship at Robinson Helicopter Company, located in Torrance, CA. Robinson Helicopter Company is the preeminent manufacturer of civil helicopters, building its reputation on a 50-year commitment to providing affordable and quality aircraft. This role is essential for providing administrative and accounting support to the Finance Department, allowing the intern to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while contributing to the day-to-day operations.

• Team: Reports to the Accounting Manager
• Mission: Provide administrative and accounting support to the Finance Department to ensure accurate financial processes and compliance within a manufacturing setting.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, ERP or accounting software (exposure a plus)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable: Assist with processing accounts payable invoices, expense reports, and vendor documentation.
• Accounts Receivable: Support accounts receivable activities, including customer payments, invoice research, and account follow-up.
• Data Entry: Perform accurate data entry into the accounting and ERP systems, maintaining a high level of precision.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain various financial spreadsheets, reports, and supporting documentation using Microsoft Excel.
• Month-End Support: Assist with monthly account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and month-end closing activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, with completion of introductory financial accounting coursework.
• Experience: Completion of introductory financial accounting coursework.
• Skills: Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); strong attention to detail and organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Junior or Senior academic standing; prior internship or office experience; experience using Microsoft Excel features such as formulas, sorting, filtering, and pivot tables; exposure to ERP or accounting software; a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
