Litigation Paralegal | D3 Search

The Tone:
This is a full-time, direct-hire role at a prominent CA-based full-service law practice, with its headquartered office located in West Los Angeles, CA. The firm is actively seeking an accomplished Litigation Paralegal to join and support its small internal civil litigation team. This position is vital for the efficient management of civil litigation cases, from initial document handling and discovery processes to meticulous client file organization and expert coordination. The successful candidate will play a critical role in contributing to the firm’s legal operations, working within a flexible hybrid 4 onsite/1 remote work model.

• Mission: Support the civil litigation team through comprehensive paralegal duties, managing discovery, and client file organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Collection and Production: Manage the comprehensive process of document collection and production for civil litigation cases, ensuring all materials are accurately prepared and submitted.
• Correspondence and Drafting: Draft a range of legal documents including correspondence, Letters of Representation (LORs), client welcome letters, and other discovery-related documents as needed by the litigation team.
• Client File Management: Set up, organize, and maintain client files meticulously within Filevine, which includes renaming and organizing documents, performing document review, updating estimate and report screens, and entering party information.
• Discovery Process Management: Assist with all aspects of discovery matters, specifically focusing on document management utilizing platforms such as Relativity, DISCO, and/or Everlaw for tagging and organization, and drafting initial disclosures.
• Expert and Client Coordination: Coordinate expert assignments and track inspections requested by carriers, while also communicating with clients regarding expert estimates, following up on approvals, and tracking settlement statements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate degree in paralegal or legal studies, or a paralegal certificate is required.
• Experience: A minimum of four (4+) years of relevant litigation experience and expertise specifically within civil litigation is essential. Required experience also includes proficiency with document management platforms such as Relativity, DISCO, and/or Everlaw.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability in document collection and production, managing discovery processes, drafting legal correspondence and documents, effective client and expert communication, and meticulous organization of legal files.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in paralegal or legal studies is highly preferred.
